Celebrate Benefits of Community Ownership

GUC joins more than 2,000 other utilities in the U.S. that provide services on a not-for-profit basis in an annual celebration of Public Power Week and Public Natural Gas Week, October 6 - 12.

As a community-owned utility, GUC's priorities are different from private, investor-owned utilities. Unlike private utilities, we are not driven to maximize profits for out-of-town stockholders. Instead, we concentrate on investing in our system to provide reliable, top quality service to our customers right here at home. We are willing to go the extra mile for our customers because they are our friends and neighbors. We care about customer service and serving our community because we live here too. Click here to find out more.

Did You Know?

We have two convenient locations to serve you! Our Main Office is located in Uptown Greenville at 401 S. Greene Street. GUC Express is located at 509 SE Greenville Blvd. It's easy to drop in to take care of business. Click here for more details and hours.

There's a Chill in the Air

As temperatures drop, heating systems get to work keeping you warm. The temperature outside impacts home energy usage more than any other single factor.

Do We Have Your Number?

If you call our Emergency Hotline to report a problem with your services, you'll save a little time if we have your current phone number on file, and if you call from that number.

No matter where you call from though, you'll get the help you need. Click here for more details.

In the Community

GUC participated in Construction Career Days in September at the Pitt County Fair Grounds. Approximately 1,500 Eastern NC students attend this annual event to get information and hands-on experience from construction-related professionals. Click here for more details and to see other ways GUC is involved in the community.
