We asked the US Presidential Candidates:
"What would they do to offer help and opportunity to hungry and poor people in the United States and around the world?

"This book is painfully timely. I am more committed to this one than any I have written for a long time." Jim Wallis

The book's message of racial justice and reconciliation feels so urgently needed right now-especially in the face of such racial fear and even hate being spread in the presidential campaign. I deeply believe in this message and vision, which comes out of my own story over the last 50 years and the stories of so many others. It is directly addressed to white Americans and says that if white Christians acted more Christians than white, black parents would have less to fear for their children. The book takes up the crisis of police shootings and the moral imperative to reform our criminal justice system in the context of our lingering original sin. The book lays out  a road to repentance, hope, and action that can help us build a bridge to a new America-a nation which will by 2040 no longer have a white racial majority.
