SDIF - The Place to Be
SDIF monthly meetings are the ideal place to get help on all aspects of inventing as well as make new contacts. Unlike other inventors' organizations, we have no costly annual dues or membership requirements. All you need is a desire to learn about the world of inventing and to network with like-minded people. Whether you're an inventor or a service provider to inventors, SDIF is the place to be the second Thursday of each month!

New Kickstarter Campaign - Mars City Design Challenge
Support the Mars City Design challenge on Kickstarter!  Our first submitted concept is in the top 25 (13th) for 3d printing laser sintered metalized indigenous sand into supports to contain inflated structures. The second (in the top 2 in its category) is an automated Mood Adjusting system to help people cope with the emotional stresses they will likely encounter.

We appreciate your support!
Perfect Pitch & Executive Summary Tips from Connect
Here's a link to a video by Oren Klaff
that suggests a formula for crafting your pitch that makes a lot of sense.  Oren suggests that a pitch should be:
  • What's changed in the world? (60 seconds)
  • A clear problem (120s)
  • Deal with skepticism (30s)
  • A clear solution (45s)
  • What it is? (60s)
  • How it works (60s)
  • Value proposition (120s)
  • 1 key point about you (30s)
  • 1 key point about company (30s)
Also from Connect, here's valuable information on creating your executive summary.
#SDSW is Just Around the Corner
San Diego Startup Week is June 13-17 and early bird pricing was just extended! Right now, tickets are the same low price as last year. Get them before they go up and events book out!

Dozens of local organizations will be participating (the City of San Diego, Qualcomm, San Diego Magazine, the EDC, and Irvine Co to name a few) have come together to put on an epic series of events. Don't miss this five days of over 125 events with thousands of entrepreneurs.
Summer Field Trip, Anyone?
As inventors, we're all interested in how things are made.  The Craftsmanship Museum in Carlsbad has a fantastic collection of precision miniatures, models of every sort of engine, boats, planes, trains and more--all handmade and from all over the world.

Join us Saturday June 25 at 10 am to feast your eyes and tickle your imaginations--and bring your kids so they can see and learn what "craftsmanship" is all about!
