San Diego Inventors Forum
September 2015

Greetings!

SDIF's new year and our first as a 501c3 starts this month! Thursday's topic is Harnessing Creativity.

Here is our 2015-2016 meeting schedule. As always, our presentations are designed to educate and help you, the inventor. New in this year's schedule are presentations on Kickstarter and Focus Groups 101. Attending all 101 classes earns you an SDIF Graduate Certificate!

If you missed the invention contest in August, you can watch the videos here. Michele Hoff-Nash wrote a great article about the contest for Industry Week magazine.

SDIF - The Place to Be
SDIF monthly meetings are the ideal place to get help on all aspects of inventing as well as make new contacts. Unlike other inventors' organizations, we have no costly annual dues or membership requirements. All you need is a desire to learn about the world of inventing and to network with like-minded people. Whether you're an inventor or a service provider to inventors, SDIF is the place to be the second Thursday of each month!

Edison Nation Looks To Back A New Generation Of Inventors
Touting a direct pipeline to Amazon's Launchpad program and sporting $50 million in commitments to help finance the businesses of young inventors, Edison Nation is preparing to embark on a nationwide tour to find the country's next great tech invention.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based company, whose business model is akin to the faltering Quirky, took in $50 million from a group of undisclosed backers to finance businesses that show up to its Amazon Inventions Tour, beginning in Atlanta on September 25. Edison Nation is taking 1,000 applicants who are willing to hawk their wares in front of the company's panel of experts to see if they're worth some Edison money to further develop the product or take the idea to market.
