SDIF monthly meetings are the ideal place to get help on all aspects of inventing as well as make new contacts. Unlike other inventors' organizations, we have no costly annual dues or membership requirements. All you need is a desire to learn about the world of inventing and to network with like-minded people. Whether you're an inventor or a service provider to inventors, SDIF is the place to be the second Thursday of each month!

Help Urgently Needed! Anti-Inventor Bill Before Congress
|
Randy Landreneau, Founder of the Independent Inventors of America, has once again made us aware that there is a move in Congress to pass legislation that is very detrimental to independent inventors like us. Help is needed to thwart this effort!
Today, PGO's invalidate patents at rates near 75%. There is no longer any Presumption of Validity in practice and the cost of proving and reproving the patent valid is an enormous and often insurmountable burden on the inventor. Just one PGO, costing the petitioner around $20,000, can cost the patent holder as much as $750,000.
Few investors will help an inventor because the risk of losing is extraordinarily high, in turn leaving the inventor with no access to money. This highly unfair and unjust process can permit an infringer to succeed against an inventor based on access to money alone. Like other forms of action under the patent law, the new reexamination procedure is susceptible to substantial misuses.
If we continue down this anti-patent road, the U.S. will no longer lead. China will!
Read a well-documented white paper about this problem.
