San Diego Inventors Forum
 January 2013

Greetings!

Mark your calendar to join us this Thursday when SDIF takes up the topic of internet marketing. This is sure to be a lively, information packed meeting that you won't want to miss.

We meet the second Thursday of each month at the offices of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP in Del Mar Heights. Networking starts at 6:30 PM, and our meeting starts at 7:00 PM. As always, thanks to Sheppard Mullin for graciously hosting our SDIF meetings for the past five years. We couldn't have done it without them!

Thanks to our December guest speaker, branding expert and author, Liz Goodgold of Red Fire Branding.

Whether you're an inventor, a service provider, or an entrepreneur, SDIF is the place to get solid information as well as make great contacts!  And there are no costly dues or membership requirements, just a desire to learn about the world of inventing and network with like-minded people.

Gravity-Powered Lamp

A design team in London has created a lamp powered by gravity called the GravityLight that could free poor, off the grid communities, from using costly and dangerous kerosene fueled lamps.  Attached to the lamp, which is expected to retail for around $10 when it comes to market, is a bag that can hold about 20 pounds of sand or rocks and gravel which acts as the fuel when combined with gravity.  Read more...
The Inventor's Mentor
George Levy

You have a wonderful invention that promises to be very profitable. There is only one problem: you need $200,000 to develop it and build a prototype. To get this funding from potential investors, you need to show them convincing evidence that your invention will be financially successful. This evidence, alas, is the prototype itself. What do you do?

Don't miss the December issue of George Levy's newsletter "The Inventor's Mentor."
