Activities in full swing!

With more than two weeks of school in the books, after-school activities are now in full swing, which means it's time to get out and support our students!

Fine arts, athletics and other extracurricular activities are now ramping up across all grade levels. In addition to weekly football and volleyball games at middle and high schools, fall plays are now either taking place or preparing for their premieres, such as the upcoming districtwide middle school musical.

Visit the district athletics and fine arts websites for information on upcoming events and where to watch them.
Steele students receive employment training from area business
Parents often cite real-world training as a desire for their children in modern education, and at Steele Accelerated High School, students recently received that training directly from the source: a business. Read about the training Steele students received from Wells Fargo Dealer Services regarding how to improve their rsums and give better interviews by clicking here.

Pike, Northwest PTSAs honored

Congratulations to Pike Middle School and Northwest High School for being honored among the just 173 schools in the U.S. named National PTA Schools of Excellence!

Pike and Northwest, which each operate PTSAs that include student input, was named to the 2016-18 National PTA Schools of Excellence list for their leadership in cultivating rich school-based relationships between parents, teachers and students. Pike is one of just three Texas middle schools to receive the award, while Northwest is one of just two Texas high schools to receive the award.

Avoid the traffic for home varsity football games

The new school year is here, and that means the new football season is as well. Be aware that traffic to Northwest ISD Stadium, located at 1937 Texan Drive in Fort Worth (GPS devices may require Justin be inputted instead), is often congested when traveling along U.S. Highway 114 from the direction of Texas Motor Speedway.

This week, the Northwest Texans and Byron Nelson Bobcats play at Northwest ISD Stadium in a battle of district schools. The game begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, with the Texans serving as the home team. The Eaton Eagles also play on Friday, though they play Frisco Independence at Toyota Stadium at 7 p.m.

For those looking to avoid traffic, don't take U.S. Highway 114 west (from the direction of Texas Motor Speedway). Instead, come from the east or, if coming from the west, take Eagle Parkway off of Interstate 35W, turn right onto Old Blue Mound Road, turn right onto U.S. Highway 156 and then follow Texan Drive by Northwest High School for all parking.
