Trading Briefcases for Backpacks
Northwest ISD administrators turned in their briefcase for a backpack and went back to school for the day by participating in the Shadow a Student Challenge the week of February 29-March 4.  District leadership from central office and campus principals selected a day, shadowed a student from the first
to last bell and had time to reflect on what they learned.

Some principals selected students at their own campus.  Others selected students at feeder schools nearby.  Read more about their experiences here.
1,100+ Students Present at Techno Expo
With an emphasis on preparing future ready students, NISD is continually looking for avenues to provide opportunities for students to use 21st Century learning skills, such as presentations and public speaking.  Techno Expo is designed to give students the ability to demonstrate their skills in animation, digital video, multimedia, website design, desktop publishing and more to the community.  During a series of more than 420 breakout sessions, more than 1,100 students presented their best technology work on February 25.  This year's expo featured Lego robotics demonstrations and joint projects with elementary students and middle and high school students.

As one of the top digital districts in the nation, Northwest ISD is considered an innovative leader across the nation in its uses of technology, providing students with college and career ready opportunities.  Technology provides interactive and collaborative learning experiences for every student.  Check out more photos on Twitter using #NISDExpo or go to the photo gallery here.
