Did you know that Al Jazeera America is offering opportunities for documentary filmmakers? Whether it's for a project already in development or a new commission, this opportunity might be for you! First announced in January of 2013 and launched in August, Al Jazeera America is actively seeking out fresh perspectives from under-reported regions around the world.  Their Documentary Unit is co-producing and acquiring one-offs and series that explore topics such as immigration, education, poverty, healthcare and the justice system.  Their weekly series Fault Lines takes you beyond the headlines and holds the powerful to account as it examines the US' role in the world through 25-minute correspondent driven documentaries and an annual commission of 12-15 films in that format.  Witness features inspirational and provocative stories that are intimate, observational and character-led, and actively pursues co-productions, commissions and acquisitions for their 48-minute format. Join representatives from each program to learn more about what they are looking for and how you could work with them. WMM is happy to welcome Cynthia Kane, Documentary Unit's Senior Producer, Lucy Kennedy, Fault Lines' Commissioning Producer, and Jean Garner, Witness' Senior Commissioning Producer in the Americas.
