Welcome to the 2016-17 School Year!
 Wildcat
Meet Wilma and Willy Wildcat, Dallastown's friendly, furry mascots.

Along with district administrators, faculty, staff, and the Dallastown Area Board of School Directors, we welcome you to a new school year!
A Wildcat Welcome

Changes in district leadership beginning the 2016-17 school year include the appointments of Marcus Bouchillon, principal of York Township Elementary School; Kelly Kessler, principal of Loganville-Springfield Elementary School (former assistant principal of the middle school); Denise Miller-Blackwell, middle school assistant principal; and, Dr. Stephanie Ferree, supervisor of federal programs, curriculum and instruction (former principal of York Township Elementary).

We also welcome 19 new teachers, a new human resources coordinator, and support staff, who began their orientation and teacher induction activities on Wednesday, August 10th.

Let's extend a warm Wildcat Welcome to each!
Orientations and Meet the Teacher Nights

During August and September, the Dallastown Area School District provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to meet your child's teachers, tour classrooms, learn about academic programs, and become better acquainted with educational opportunities available to your student.

Access the Dallastown website calendar to locate your child's Orientation and/or Meet the Teacher Night.

A Smorgasbord of Nutritional Education for Students and Parents

The Dallastown Area School District, in partnership with Chartwells,  uses Nutrislice to publish school menus on its interactive website and smartphone app. This latest technology makes menus, nutrition analysis, and ingredients and allergens easily available to students and families in a number of different languages. To learn more about Chartwells, access Eat. Learn. Live. To access school menus and nutrition education, visit Nutrislice.
mySchoolBucks

Again this year, Dallastown Area School District offers mySchoolBucks, a convenient, secure, online service for prepaid student meals using a credit/debit card or electronic check.

Parents can view what's for lunch, monitor cafeteria purchases, and arrange for low balance alerts.

Enrolling a student is easy. Access www.mySchoolBucks.com
to register, and never worry again about sending cash or checks to school with your student. Download your mobile app today!
Dallastown Area Educational Foundation

Again this year, the DAEF has compiled a district calendar being sold for $10. The calendar is available for purchase in school building offices, during Meet the Teacher Night, the DAEF/Dallastown Foundation Scholarship (DFS) Committee Fall Festival, and various district events. Special thanks are extended to board volunteers Teresa Cooksey and Jill Thornley for coordinating the calendar project.

COMING UP: Next week's DASD E-News Weekly will include details on the DAEF/DFS Committee Fall Festival being held Saturday, October 1st. Its annual "Run for the One" 5K run/walk will be held on the same date.

About the DASD E-News Weekly

Again this year, we offer the school community the opportunity to subscribe to the DASD E-News Weekly, the district's newsletter distributed on Fridays during the school year.

With each weekly edition we highlight information and news about district initiatives and activities. It is not a substitute for information found on each school's website or the district's website, but it is another means to communicate general information that may be useful to a wide readership.

While we hope you find it informative and useful, if you do not wish to receive this newsletter you may unsubscribe by accessing the SafeUnsubscribe(TM) link below. To update or add an e-mail address, access the Update Profile/E-mail Address link below.
