Dardenne to headline 2013 Critical Issues Summit

Lt. Jay Dardenne will be the feature speaker at the 2013 Critical Issues Summit in Baton Rouge on Jan. 31.
  
The two-day summit, at the Baton Rouge Renaissance Hotel, brings together statewide experts to discuss issues that affect the engineering, design and construction industries.
 
The summit also will feature panel discussions on legal and legislative matters of importance to the engineering, design and construction industries. It is jointly sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana, AGC of Louisiana, the AIA and the Louisiana Asphalt Pavement Association.


Dardenne was re-elected to a four-year term as Louisiana's lieutenant governor in October 2011. He previously served one year in that position, filling an unexpired term. He also served four years as secretary of state and fifteen years as a state senator.
  
During his legislative service, Dardenne chaired the Senate Finance Committee. In 2003, he was named National Republican Legislator of the Year. He is an active community volunteer, having hosted the Jerry Lewis Telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for more than thirty years.
