At Labelexpo Americas, Martin Automatic introduced the new MLSW Splicer for non-stop roll change of self-wound overlaminate films. Splicing is ultra-simple -- no additional tape or adhesive is needed. The MLSW is the latest in the MLS line of splicers which include models for inline (adhesive application) film lamination and for foil stamping. FEATURED INSTALLATION  Hampshire Label has acquired a Durst Tau 330E to move into the UV inkjet label market. The Tau is a digital UV inkjet press printing 8-in. or 13-in. widths in four or five colors at speeds up to 157 fpm and resolution to 1,260 dpi. "With the Durst Tau 330E, the speed, color fidelity, and the 13-inch wide web width really stood out for us," said co-owner Andrew Harnett (left). "We like being one of the first adopters of this machine in the U.S. We didn't want to get into any proprietary material requirements, and we wanted to avoid pre-coating of stocks if possible in order to do printing. So the Tau 330E was a great solution for us."
