MPS Systems North America reports Nosco has installed an MPS EF press for its Carrollton, TX, facility. This is the second EF press Nosco has purchased in the past three years. The 17-in. eight-color multi-substrate flexo press is highly automated and includes an automatic unwind and rewind system from Kocher & Beck. "Three years ago we went on a year-long research project to find the best press technology for our Carrollton plant," said Brad Elledge, director of continuous improvement (above right). "MPS blew us away because they delivered what they said they would in each phase of our testing: a press with exceptionally tight registration that holds through speed changes and no bar marking. MPS has thought differently. They are printing against a free-wheeling, hadurable rubber impression roll so they've eliminated pacing issues and minimized dot gain."
