FEATURED INSTALLATION
Wind Walker, Kiel, WI, has invested in its third Nilpeter press, an FB-3300 UV machine. The prime labels and flexible packaging converter said reliability was a key issue. "When we were in the market for a top-notch press that we know would start producing on day one, we didn't look any further than Nilpeter," says President Mike Willeford. "Their responsiveness to our urgent situation definitely weighed into our decision-making process, but first and foremost was our long history with Nilpeter and our confidence in the FB-Line. The press was only in our building a matter of a few days, before we had it printing 8-color labels at 500 fpm with incredible quality. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a great flexo press."

PFFC CONFERENCES AT CPP EXPO
Package printers know that converting is more profitable than printing. Maximizing printer efficiency will allow the operation to fully utilize converting. UV or EB ink curing supports this through reduced scrap, faster changeovers, and high reliability. Product directly off the press is dry and ready for converting, usually with excellent print quality. Additionally the inks are insensitive to water or solvent. Full coverage clear coatings may be used in place of lamination. Both UV and EB cure printing have important roles with food packaging, mostly for indirect contact, but with EB also some direct applications. Additionally, UV/EB cure has cost and sustainability advantages. This presentation, by Dene Taylor, will provide an explanation of why UV/EB is gaining share in this market. There will be a discussion of why inkjet is poised to grow dramatically too. CONFERENCE AGENDA
