Colbert Packaging Corp., Lake Forest, IL, has installed a new Heidelberg 40-in. Speedmaster XL 106 offset press at its Elkhart, IN, carton and box manufacturing facility. It can print six-color processes and coat paperboard in a single pass using both conventional and UV inks and coatings. With a full logistic feeder, the press quickly and easily performs load changeovers and enables continuous feedings. Auto plate hangers simultaneously hang all six plates in 90 seconds. President Jim Hamilton says, "This new press will have a major impact on our entire operation. In addition to quality and efficiency improvements resulting from the upgraded technology, the press will also provide additional capacity and expanded capabilities."
