COOL CONVERTED PRODUCT
CINCINNATI, OH | Dr Pepper has gone back to its roots with a retro glass bottle and a pressure-sensitive label featuring the nostalgic 10-2-4 motif. Extended Gamut Printing for Flexo and Offset Is Lean
Process color (CMYK) inks are unable to provide matches for some popular and eye-catching colors. SWOP is especially deficient. The historical solution has been to print spot colors with additional print stations. This necessitates a large inventory of plates, cylinders, and inks. Extended gamut ink sets include RGB (or OGV) and increase the print gamut from triangular to hexagonal, thereby capturing a much greater part of the range of standard colors. Printing expert Dene Taylor will show how extended gamut printing fits the goals of lean manufacturing.
Digital 3D fabrication technologies will grow significantly over the next decade as a means for manufacturing 3D products, printed electronics, thin film photovoltaic solar cells, and more. Vince Cahill, VCE Solutions, will evaluate digital 3D fabrication methods, including stero-lithography, selective laser sintering and melting, fused deposition modeling, electron beam melting, and inkjet deposition systems. He will provide insight into emerging applications and likely market trends.
