PFFC CONFERENCES AT CPP EXPO
 Digital printing has opened new markets for commercial printers and is doing the same with labels and packaging. The adoption is faster here because many brand owners have seen the potential value with their advertising and promotions; a demand exists--it does not have to be created. The key factors for success have been print quality at least equal to conventional print, rapid turnaround, print-on-demand, short runs, and continually variable prints. The primary advantage to the printer is business with strong margins, if execution is competent. PFFC's On Print columnist Dene Taylor will discuss the primary technologies with reference to commercial devices and key markets, especially folding cartons and premium labels.
