Toray Plastics (America) Offers New Metallized BOPP 

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI | Toray Plastics (America) has introduced Torayfan PC5 metallized BOPP film, a versatile ultra-high oxygen- and moisture-barrier film that can be used in tri-laminations as a foil replacement and as an overwrap laminator or wrapper.           

 
BURLINGTON, MA | Chromasens announces a vision-based inspection system said to achieve unprecedented accuracy by incorporating spectral image capture with 12 individual color channels per pixel instead of just three. 

 

WESTERLY, RI | Maxson Automatic Machinery Co. has developed an air delivery system said to improve the pile quality on a sheeter's stacker. Last week I attended a demonstration of 3D printing, "Dialogues on the New Plastic," by artists Tom Burtonwood and Holly Holmes. These lovely vases are made of PLA and were created on a Makerbot 3D printer. They are very cool, but how is this printing? Wouldn't extrusion molding be more
