Governor McAuliffe Announces $350M Investment to Expand Norfolk International Terminals

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Wednesday morning a $350 million investment from the state to expand the cargo capacity at Norfolk International Terminals' (NIT) South Berth.

The investment was included in McAuliffe's 2016 budget plan. The money will be used to reconfigure the South Berth at NIT in order to increase capacity by 46 percent. It will also improve the speed at which cargo moves through the area.

From the ground, the rows of corn in the Richlands Dairy Farm cornfield seem to have been hacked at random.
But from the air, a beautiful pattern is revealed: in elegant script, the farm's name appears alongside the year and an enormous ice cream cone, all etched in brown earth and verdant green. It's a vision of Dinwiddie County that hasn't often been seen - until now.

This July, the Dinwiddie County Office of Parks, Recreation and Tourism is rolling out a series of four films that highlight agriculture, history and outdoor adventure in the county using footage taken from cameras mounted on drones and skydivers.
