NACo Recognizes Prince George County for Youth Workforce Program

The National Association of Counties (NACo) announced June 14 that Prince George County has been granted a 2016 Achievement Award for its "Youth Workforce Academy."

The selection was made in the category of employment and training. Prince George County will join other winners selected at a luncheon on July 24 in Los Angeles as part of the 2016 NACo Annual Conference.
VGR Leadership & Partners Visit the Port of Virginia

In June, members of Virginia's Gateway Region Economic Development Organization (VGR) board of directors and other partners gathered to attend an informational tour at the Port of Virginia.

The tour offered the opportunity for VGR stakeholders to see the port in action, while learning more about the logistics advantages the Gateway Region's close proximity offers. Located within a short truck from the region, the port serves Virginia companies in exporting goods both domestically and internationally, and is an important asset to the region for company recruitment.
