PETERSBURG - Work is moving along at a rapid clip on the rebirth of one of the city's most prominent landmarks, with the first new tenants now expected to start moving in just two months from now.

The project known as 30 Franklin has been underway for a little over a year, but activity has ramped up rapidly in the past couple of months. Thomas A. Wilkinson III, a principal with the Richmond-based developer, Maramjen Investments LLC, said last week that the walls are in place now for the four floors of apartments at the top of the seven-story building, and cabinets and fixtures are now being installed.
