Community Feels Effects Following Major Storm

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, major winds, thunderstorms and several tornadoes rocked the region and many parts of the state, leaving thousands without power and claiming multiple causalities in Waverly and Appomattox County. Our thoughts are with those who were injured or lost loved ones this week.

We are deeply grateful to our utility providers, Dominion, Old Dominion Electric Cooperative, Southside Electric Cooperative and Prince George Electric Cooperative, and emergency and safety personnel for their tireless efforts to restore power and ensure the safety of our citizens. As we rebuild today and in the coming weeks, we must remember the importance of community and the support that can be found in our neighbors, colleagues and friends.
