Petersburg Area Transit Expands Route to Accommodate Workers to Amazon

PETERSBURG, Va. - Petersburg Area Transit is starting a new daily route to accommodate Petersburg workers to the Amazon distribution center in Dinwiddie County. The particular warehouse is located at 5000 Commerce Way in North Dinwiddie.

The new expansion begins Wednesday, January 20. The routes will start at 5.15 a.m. and 6.15 a.m. then arrive at the Dinwiddie warehouse 15 minutes later. The route will leave the Amazon warehouse at 3.15 p.m and 5.15 p.m. to return Petersburg.

The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) today released a research report produced by Richmond-based Mangum Economics that shows that data centers are big business in Virginia.

The report, The Economic and Fiscal Contribution that Data Centers Make to Virginia, indicates that data centers in Virginia have a large overall economic impact.
