Prince George Continues Broadband Initiatives   
PRINCE GEORGE - The county is continuing to make strides to bring wireless broadband to citizens.

Jeff Stoke, deputy county administrator for community and economic development, has presented options for providing broadband services throughout Prince George. Stoke said the county has been looking at different options since 2007. That same year, the county received a $25,000 technical assistance study grant from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. They received another in 2008 and have since used both for broadband initiatives.

ETTRICK - Virginia State University is hosting its annual Aquaculture Field Day Thursday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Randolph Farm, 4415 River Road. The event features demonstrations related to aquaculture and aquaponics management, production and harvesting.

Aquaculture, one of the fastest growing food-producing sectors, now accounts for nearly 50 percent of the world's food fish. Virginia State University's Cooperative Extension Aquaculture program is the state's leading provider of freshwater aquaculture outreach and education.
