Online retailer Amazon.com Inc., which operates two order-fulfillment centers in the Richmond area, said it plans to hire 80,000 seasonal employees to work at its national network of fulfillment and sorting centers this holiday season.

 

That's about 10,000 more workers than the Seattle-based company said it planned to hire for the 2013 holiday season. The company attributed that to increased demand from customers.
