Female executives weigh in on the glass ceiling

On Wednesday, May 21, the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce  hosted a Women in Business luncheon focusing on the glass ceiling and how to help female professionals break through in their careers. VGR President & CEO Renee Chapline participated as a panelist along with Audrey Bollinger, retired president of People's Advantage Federal Credit Union, and Suzanne Jackson, CEO of John Randolph Medical Center.

The three executives with decades of experience between them offered advice from partnering with one's spouse at home, working hard to climb the ranks, looking and dressing for success, to how to mentor peers. Most importantly, the executives reminded women to be intentional, promote diversity and be agents of change.

"When you put it through your mind to be the best you can be, there is no glass ceiling," Bollinger said.

These 80 men and women had at least 40 years of federal service with the Combined Arms Support Command and were honored for their service.
