Namaste, and pleasant greetings on this beautiful fall day in the desert.
I hope this finds you happy, well, and vibrantly navigating the continually evolving currents of our collective journeys.
...and for those of you who have asked about the monthly newsletters - well, they will resume in November with lots of great new (and old) fun and amazing yogi lifestyle stuff! So stay tuned in...
In the meanwhile, I wanted to invite you to a beautiful happening this Friday evening. The observance of Navaratri began on October 15 with the new moon. Navaratri is a 9 day period of time when the energy of Divine Mother is evoked. Over the course of nine nights, three vedic goddesses are embraced. The first three nights are dedicated to Durga (introspection and transformation), the next three nights are dedicated to Lakshmi (love and abundance), and the last three nights are dedicated to Saraswati (wisdom, art and education). Ayurvedically speaking, these goddesses can be experienced in terms of the 3 gunas. Durga representing tamasic (slow, deep, dark) energy, Lakshmi representing rajas (active, bright, magnetic) and Saraswati representing sattvic (balanced, tranquil, peaceful) qualities.
The Nine Nights of the Divine Mother festival is a time when we can all embrace the full spectrum of the processes of transformation. My dear friend, Peggy Mackay, is hosting a puja this Friday night in celebration of Navaratri. Peggy is an accomplished pujari and has presided over many, many fire ceremonies in India and around the globe. It is a rare and auspicious treat to have the opportunity to participate in an authentic and loving fire ceremony and celebration of each other right here at home. I hope you can join us this Friday at 7pm at the Mackay residence in the Paradise Valley area. The details are below. Thank you for being here! Love, Deborah
