Lower 9 Farmers Market open this weekend
The Lower 9th Ward Farmer's Market will be open tomorrow, Nov. 1 and every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. There will be a variety of seasonal vegetables, raw honey from right here in the Lower 9, and food dishes available for purchase. The market will be held at the Lower 9th Ward Village, 1205 Charbonnet Street, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Register today for the New Orleans Neighborhood Summit
The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement office is hosting the third annual New Orleans Neighborhood Summit, a one-day professional development conference for neighborhood/community leaders and residents of Orleans parish. The event will be held next Saturday, Nov. 8, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Dillard University's Professional Services Building, 2601 Gentilly Blvd. The deadline to register is today, Oct. 31.

Facilitation training for workshop leaders
The Tulane Prevention Research Center will host a training for workshop leaders Wednesday, Nov. 5, 6 p.m. at All Souls Episcopal Church and Community Center, 5500 St. Claude Ave. This training is an opportunity to learn best ways to prepare for workshops, develop a solid workshop outline, fully engage your audience, and get your audience involved in hands-on activity. Each participate will receive a certificate of completion. Training will last 1 1/2 hours and refreshments will be provided. To reserve your spot, call (504) 875-2948.

Third annual Algiers health fair
The Third annual Algiers health fair will take place Saturday, Nov. 8, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Algiers United Methodist Church, 637 Opelousas Ave. (Algiers Point). This event will feature activities for all ages, including a cooking class, health screenings, meditation and art therapy. It's free and open to the public.

Make it Right invites the community to their first annual Fall Fest celebration. It's tonight, Oct. 31, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Tennessee St. This will be a full-filled celebration with food, games, prizes and give-a-ways. Please bring your own chairs.
