CSED Kickstarter Launched
 

CSED is excited to announce the launch of our Kickstarter campaign for "The Center: A Sustainable Historic House". Our goal is to raise $17,900 by Nov. 4. With your contributions, we can finish renovating 5227 Chartres St. and become an educational center. 

Legal clinic open this weekend


The Common Ground Relief's Legal Clinic will be open this Saturday and the first Saturday of each month, noon - 3 p.m. Visit clinic staff 1800 Deslonde Street for assistance with elder law, estate planning, family law, housing issues, and social security/SSI issues. Conflict resolution workshop registration open

Community Mediation Services will be conducting a free conflict resolution workshop in the Lower 9th Ward on Monday, Oct. 27, 4:45 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. at All Souls Church, 5500 St. Claude Ave. If you are interested in attending this event, contact Lou Furman at 504-606-2706 or by email at furman44@gmail.com. Dinner will be provided and space is limited, so register today. 
Youth workforce construction training with Louisiana Green Corps 
 
Louisiana Green Corps is
recruiting youth ages 18 - 21 for their workforce construction training. It's a 14 week program in which youth can earn construction-related certifications, receive a weekly stipend and get job placement assistance.

Mt. Nebo Bible Baptist Church events

Mt. Nebo Bible Baptist Church family and Pastor Charles Duplessis invite you to worship with them at St. Maurice Baptist Church, 605 St. Maurice Street. Worship service will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 - Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. 

They will also be sponsoring a Women's Conference November 7 - 9. The registration fee is $30 and the deadline to register is Sunday, Oct. 26. 

Urban restoration mapping blitz

The Public Lab Urban Restoration Mapping Blitz is a new event that will kick off a mapping project aimed at tracking the progress of eight urban wetland restoration projects near Lake Pontchartrain. The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Rosa F. Keller Public Library at 9 a.m. Participants can enjoy free lunch and a day of creating aerial imagery, photography, scavenger hunts and map building.
