Volunteer Spotlight: Antioch Mission Team

The Antioch Mission team volunteered in our Lower 9th Ward community June 24-28. During their time with us, they also hosted a special crusade night church service where they distributed free bags of groceries and gift cards to Save-A-Lot grocery stores.
Volunteers Needed for Food Action Survey

Help bring more quality food into the Lower 9th Ward. The Lower Ninth Ward Food Access Coalition is seeking volunteers to conduct door-to-door surveys that will help develop solutions outlined in their Food Action Plan: mobile grocery store, healthy corner store, and school-based grocery store.

Contact Jenga Mwendo for more information at [email protected] or (504) 324-9955.

Connectthe9 Bike Ride

The Connectthe9 Bike Ride and tour is a free, family-friendly ride aimed at raising awareness around biking in the Lower 9th Ward, as well as promoting safety for bike and transit commuters that use the St. Claude Bridge.  The ride will take place Saturday, July 20 at 6 pm at The Lower Ninth Ward Village: 1001 Charbonnet Street with one stop at Caf Dauphine for a water break.
