2nd Annual Project Access Golf Tournament a Success

Thank you to our sponsors!

David Rose

You did it! Thanks to your generosity, Project Access was able to raise over $126,000 at the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held on June 4th at the beautiful Strawberry Farms Golf Course in Irvine, CA. It was a perfect day for golf, as over a 132 participants took to the green to raise funds for the children, families and seniors that Project Access serves every day. We couldn't have done it with our sponsors, staff, volunteers, Board of Directors and our hard working tournament chairman, Jim Reed! The highlights of the day included a live auction, and an opportunity drawing for a custom set of golf clubs!

Thanks to the funds raised at the event, Project Access will be able to keep children in school, family members employed and seniors active!

NFL Star Visits Project Access

Linebacker Gives Back

TW with group of boys NFL Star, Thomas Williams paid a visit to our Family Resource Center at Hermosa Village to talk to our teens about setting goals and making them happen. Good things come to those who wait, but the best things come to those who set goals and work hard - Thomas is living proof of that! We had Teens come from 3 Family Resource Centers for a presentation by the USC Alum and NFL star, who spends his time volunteering and motivating young people.  He was kind enough to answer questions, take photos with the youth and relate to them on a personal level! See photos from the event here.

Residents Gain New Opportunities with Project Access

Two Youth Create a Unique Career Path

We are always looking for new ways in which our residents can find success, and the Youth Entrepreneurship Program being offered by Rancho Santiago Community College is just that! Project Access is proud to be sending young residents to the program that is designed for 14-27 year old to learn the basics of a business plan. Bryan Jauregui, a resident at the Hermosa Village apartment community in Anaheim and a soon-to-be senior at Loara High School, has designs on a career creating and producing his own t-shirts. Bryan is hard at work developing his business plan and currently is drawing his own designs and saving them onto a flash drive. Jesus Vega, a 22-year-old music major at Fullerton College, and 10-year resident of Anaheim's Park Vista apartment community, is busy developing a plan for a concert idea that would focus on college campuses throughout California.  The campuses would become concert venues that would give students an affordable alternative to the high ticket prices and excessive additional fees often associated with going to concerts. Both of these wonderful ideas will be presented in a Business Plan Competition as part of the class, with prizes for first-place prize of $1,000 and a second-place prize of $500 will be awarded. Best of luck to our amazing hard working residents, Byran and Jesus!
