Spring Family Festival May 19th
Celebrating Community Near and Far
It's a first! Spread the word and invite your friends and family to Faith Episcopal Church's upcoming Spring Family Festival on Sunday, May 19, from 11:30am to 3:30pm. The fun outdoor venue on Faith's beautiful grounds will showcase our church, provide opportunities for giving back, and help us raise money for worthwhile endeavors in the community here and abroad. Get ready for live music, bounce houses, as well as games for the kids including old-fashioned favorites such as three-legged races and odd ones such as M&M spitting contests. Kids of all ages should be ready to jump into volleyball matches. We are organizing a silent auction as well.

Supporting Outreach While Having FunAA | |
By Father Sean Cox

Why are we having a Spring Family Festival? To promote awareness of our outreach ministries and enjoy fellowship with parishioners, neighbors and friends, and to create structures for funding our outreach commitments.
Annual operating revenue covers expenses such as salaries, diocesan assessment, and utilities. Mortgage on the property and building is paid through capital campaign funds.
We generate outreach funds through occasional appeals at Christmas, Easter, and other occasions. By having special events such as the Spring Family Festival, we'll add funding opportunities for outreach.
By attending the Spring Family Festival, you are supporting outreach. All revenues from the festival will go to our outreach partners locally and around the world. |

Children's Lent/Easter Giving Project
Thank you to all who contributed to our children's Lent giving project! Our Sunday school classes collected approximately $250 to send to Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) for the purchase of flocks of chicks. They will be provided to families in need who can use the chickens and eggs as sources of food and income. What a great way to show love to our (global) neighbors.

Leadership Summit | |
13 World-class Speakers in 2 Days
The Leadership Summit takes place on Thursday and Friday, August 8 and 9, in Folsom.
Leadership is critical to church vitality. A church's effectiveness in pursuing its God-given mission is largely dependent on the character, devotion and skill of its leadership core-which can be formal or informal, staff or volunteer, clergy or laity.
For many years, Faith Church has sent a delegation to the Leadership Summit, simulcast at Lakeside Church in Folsom. The Summit is where ideas like our "First Serve" program and The Hole in Our Gospel were first encountered. In addition to benefits for our church, attendees have benefitted professionally because the speakers aren't just "church" people or "mission" people, but also business people. Some employers will cover the cost.
This year's speakers include Colin Powell, Mark Burnett, Patrick Lencioni, Henry Cloud. Click here for a full listing of speakers.
The early-bird fee (ends 5/21) is $189 (for a team of 14 or fewer - it drops to $149 if we have 15 or more attend).
If you are interested in attending, contact Kim in the church office for group registration information. |

Outreach Through Faith's Quilt Ministry
The photo of children in Honduras admiring the gift of new quilts gives testimony to the comfort and care that is provided by the quilt making ministry at Faith Church. Father Kent McNair took fifteen quilts and six baby quilts from Faith Church to Honduras on a recent trip. In addition, Pastor John Ramey has recently taken twenty quilts to share with others on these trips overseas. Three Faith members were given lap quilts to aid their convalescence.
