Look Good...Feel Better Class for Women Cancer Patients   

  

look good feel betterThis free program from the American Cancer Society helps women cancer patients improve their appearance and self-image by teaching them hands on beauty techniques to manage appearance and side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Volunteer beauty professionals lead groups, usually about 12 to 16 women, through practical, hands-on experience. Women learn about makeup, skin care, nail care, and ways to deal with hair loss such as with wigs, turbans, and scarves. Each woman gets a free makeup kit to use during and after the workshop.

Stacy Shappley, RD, from the Moncrief Cancer Institute, leads the program. A special thank you to Moncrief Cancer Center for graciously providing the lunch/dinner.
