French Fashion Label A.P.C. Opens in the Fashion District High-end French fashion label A.P.C. is now open at 9th and Broadway. The ready-to-wear brand announced it was coming to the Fashion District last year. The new boutique offers men's and women's apparel, shoes, and accessories. It is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Learn more about the retailer and what this opening means for downtown here.
Luxury Rental Tower Coming to 8th and Spring
Vancouver-based Holland Partner Group is expected to break ground on its luxury residential, mixed-use tower this fall. The company purchased the 39,000 sq. ft. parking lot where the tower will be constructed last year. The tower will be 24 stories with approximately 300 units for rent. Peking Tavern Now Open for Lunch
Chinese gastropub Peking Tavern is now open for lunch Thursdays and Fridays, 12 noon to 2 p.m. Peking Tavern is also offering delivery service through www.trycaviar.com.
Sidewalk Vending Meetings LA Fashion District BID staff along with several organizations in Downtown spoke at the Downtown L.A. Neighborhood Council Community Impact Committee on Wednesday about the proposal to legalize sidewalk vending across the city. Since no specific program has been outlined and no details released on regulations, costs or enforcement, the committee was urged to withhold a new impact statement. The committee tabled the matter until more information is made available by City staff.
Broadway Dress Rehearsal Surface Refresh Next Week Starting next week, the LA Department of Transportation (LADOT) will be resurfacing the Broadway streetscapes between 3rd and 11th Streets. It will replace the existing treatment which did not adhere properly. The new treatment, a colorized, cement-based road surface coating, will be more durable and easier to clean.
Property owners and businesses are being asked to please refrain from washing sidewalks or sending water into the pedestrian space or roadway. Pedestrian access will be prohibited during surface treatment removal and installation. Please view this flyer for additional information.
New LADOT Transit Services Analysis Every three to five years, LADOT Transit performs a comprehensive line-by-line analysis (Transit Service Analysis) of its services to assess their performance, as well as to identify unmet transportation needs in the city.LADOT Transit has begun a new Transit Service Analysis, called "Moving Forward...Together". While the analysis will study technical aspects affecting route planning such as new development, demographic changes, current and potential ridership, cost effectiveness and mobility needs, a key factor in the analysis is input from riders, potential riders, employers, social service agencies, as well as other major stakeholders who represent targeted populations throughout the City of Los Angeles.
