Business Leaders Hobnob at MS Coliseum; Regional Round-Ups Resume

Greetings!
Business leaders across Mississippi are taking advantage of the great opportunities to stay informed on important issues through MEC.

On Wednesday of last week, a record crowd took part in Hobnob Mississippi, and the action was non-stop as we heard from statewide elected officials, U.S. Senate candidates and other special guests. Attendees were also treated to an outstanding performance by the talented Jasmine Murray, Miss Mississippi, and a Top 10 finalist in Miss America and finalist for Quality of Life.

Hobnob continues to be one of MEC's most popular events, as business and community leaders gather from across the state to catch up with one another and learn the latest on what's happening in the State Capital. This year didn't disappoint and you can find photos and videos of speakers at

Also, MEC has kicked off its Regional Round-Up events, and if the first couple of meetings are any indication of what's in store, this approach is going to help us carry the message from each region on the key issues and how they impact the state as a whole. In all, the Round-Ups will be held in nine regions across the state and will truly help as we continue to increase Mississippi's overall economic competitiveness. Business and community leaders are also able to expand the conversation, and dig deeper into the vital issues, at the Round Table meetings held immediately after each Round-Up.

The Round-Ups continue this week on the Gulf Coast with meetings in Harrison and Hancock counties on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Harrison County Round-Up is at 7:30 a.m. at the Knight Non-Profit Center in Gulfport and the Hancock County Round-Up is at 11:30 a.m. at the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club. A Regional Round Table will follow each meeting.

Next week, MEC travels to Northwest Mississippi with Round-Up meetings in Southaven on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the Landers Center, in Holly Springs on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 11:30 a.m. at Annie's Restaurant, and on Friday, Nov. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Batesville Civic Center. Regional Round Tables will follow each meeting.

Keep the faith,
