Credibility is everything. If you want to succeed in business, your customers, investors, vendors, and colleagues need to trust in you and believe you will perform well for them. You are under constant scrutiny.
But before you start thinking, "No fair!" remember how it goes when you're in the role of customer, investor, vendor, or colleague.
Let's say you're at the grocery store to pick up dog food. How do you pick which is the best? Is it simply based on the price? No. The price may play a part, but your past experience is also important. What has your dog liked before? What do your friends and family and veterinarian say about the product you're considering? Have you even heard of this product before? These are all questions that might come to mind. As a business owner, you need to sell yourself as a worthy product as well. Take the following steps, and you will find success. 1. Know yourself. It is important to be honest about who you present yourself to be. People generally are great at detecting a fraud and will be more impressed with your honesty and genuineness than someone who comes off as fake.
2. Know the worth of your products. If you are confident in the value of your product and services, you will have the courage to be upfront about all aspects of the product, both positive and negative.
3. Know your stuff. If you can add insights based on research and facts, you will seem more knowledgeable. Your input is valuable when you bring new insight to the table, giving the customer a new perspective.
4. Know how to listen more than you speak. You don't have to prove yourself by answering questions that were not brought up. Instead, listen carefully to the questions and statements your customer makes, and respond thoughtfully.
5. Know how to connect. If you always sound like your biggest goal is to sell them something, you will lose all credibility. Don't make false claims. Be honest and clear about the benefits of your service or products.
If you can understand the needs of your customers and communicate how you've come to have the very solution they've been seeking, your input will become exceptionally credible for them. That ability to help people know, like, and trust you is what will help you close more sales than ever before.

Social media marketing success depends on how much you can get your fan base to engage and interact with you. Here are some proven ways to boost engagement rates:
- Highlight an employee, sharing baby pictures, music favorites, or anything quirky.
- Encourage fans to caption photos you post.
- Use creative hashtags - but only on social media sites that USE hashtags.
- Use humor if your customer base will appreciate it.
On most social media sites, you can gauge the engagement rate of your fans. Do this, and look for a spike. Need help with this? Just ask us!

If you've ever hovered over the office kitchen sink, eating so fast you feel like a wolverine, stop.
Rushing through your meal is not only bad for your digestion, it does nothing to improve your relationship with your officemates. But worse still, you're missing out on an opportunity to do much more than absorb nutrients.
That midday milestone can be an excellent time to recharge and rejuvenate, setting yourself up for a highly productive and enjoyable afternoon.
After you eat, why not spend some time...
- Stretching out on your office floor. Not napping, just stretching. This will even help you focus better later.
- Walk, dance, or wiggle. Anything to get the blood flowing to your entire body rather than pooled in your at-your-desk position.
- Make some art. Break out the crayons, paint, glue, glitter, whatever it takes to get your artistic juices flowing. This will work the other side of your brain for a while and you'll be ready to problem-solve again afterward.
- Get outside if you can. There's just something about breathing fresh air and seeing scenery that doesn't involve the same four walls you've been looking at for hours.
- Connect with someone - a non-work friend, family member, even a pet if you can get home for a few minutes. This will remind you that you've got more of a life than just work.
- Go green. If you can get to a garden (yours is best!) and spend even a few minutes weeding or caring for it, you'll feel like a new person for the afternoon.
Life is more than work. And lunch is more than food!
