Fall Greetings!
October 2015
Greetings from Assisted Living Locators,

Over the past few months we have been busy working with families and expanding our team of advisors in Georgia. In addition to Georgia, did you know that Assisted Living Locators is in a number of States and growing?  This means that we can offer the same service in multiple locations across the country as we offer here in metro-Atlanta.  You can rest assured that we work closely with all the other Assisted Living Locators offices to offer a seamless service.

Assisted Living Locators began in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2003.  The Atlanta office opened in 2009 and North Georgia opened in 2010. Now Assisted Living Locators is in 18 states and 39 cities across the US and growing as we speak.

We want to take this opportunity to introduce you to our newest elder care advisor Kim Brown. Kim is covering Northwest Georgia and is based in Rome. Read more about Kim on our website.  We are excited to have her join our growing team of experienced and compassionate advisors.  Meet the team here.

Finally we wish you all a wonderful fall and if we can help your families and elders, please do not hesitate to send them our way.
Just call or have them call us on 404-921-0064. This telephone is answered 24x7 365 days a year.

Happy Autumn,

Maria de la Guardia

What to Expect and Know When Transitioning from the Hospital or Rehab
By Assisted Living Locators Atlanta

Have you heard a family or elder say, "I had no idea we had to do that?" or "Why didn't anyone tell me about this?" or "I don't know what to do!"

Over the years Assisted Living Locators has been helping families not only in metro-Atlanta and North Georgia, but also across the US.  Our primary effort is to help families transition loved ones from home or a hospital/rehab setting to a long term care facility or home with services brought in for the elder.

During this transition phase, we have gathered information about our families' experiences and have documented them in a simple to read one-page Checklist.

Tips to Prevent Caregiver Burnout
By Cindy Nelson, Elder Care Law Attorney
Nelson Elder Care Law, LLC

Whether you are caring for an ill spouse, stuck in the "Sandwich Generation"(caring for children and aging parents at the same time), or a professional caregiver, you provide one of the greatest gifts possible, being there for someone in need.  Often it is a trying role that can begin to weigh on the caregiver, and can even cause burnout.

One of the primary causes of caregiver burnout is feeling overwhelmed by what all needs to be taken care of throughout the days, weeks, and months while a loved one is ill.

We love Autumn!
