 Planning for Success
From the Desk of Tom Licciardello, CFP
Boston 2013
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
This newsletter is a bit different.  This isn't about business as usual, but a very personal note to all of you.
As you probably know, I have had a very long history with the Boston Marathon.  I've run it 35 times, I've served on the Organizing Committee for 23 years, and this year I stood with Race Director, Dave McGillivray,  on the start line as a part of the Start Line Team.
The morning of April 15th promised a perfect day for runners, and it was.  The horrific events that unfolded later that day will never be forgotten.
I want to thank those of you who have called, emailed or texted me with concern for my safety and that of my family.  The good news is that we are all physically fine.  Honestly, it will take us some time to process this tragedy, however.  It's been such an important part of our lives that we, like so many others, have taken this personally.
You may know that I write a monthly running column titled "Runner's Corner".  On Monday evening I was asked to write an article from my perspective.  It was the most difficult assignment I've ever been given.  I though you might like to read it. (see below)
Thank you for your concern....it's meant the world to my family and me.

As a past competitor on this historic course, it would be a great honor to stand next to the maestro at the start line of the most prestigious marathon in the world.
