SPECIAL SUMMER ACTIVITY: EXPLORING THE OCEANS 

Girl Scout staff member Melissa Baffa lived aboard the E/V Nautilus earlier this summer - it was an incredible deep-sea adventure! If you missed participating in the expedition LIVE, you can still join us for some fun follow-up events!

NEW PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCED WITH NATIONAL PARKS SYSTEM

Starting this fall, all fourth graders will receive a one-year FREE pass to all National Parks. The new Girl Scout Ranger Program is one of many ways to celebrate this tremendous opportunity. Our council will be announcing programs and other ways to participate over the coming months as well.

 

ADULTS STILL NEEDED FOR ARNAZ SAFETY COMMITTEE

A new safety committee is being formed with the purpose of reviewing incident reports, safety equipment and procedures, and other safety-related issues at Camp Arnaz. The committee will meet twice a year, and the first meeting is scheduled for July 15. Interested, even if you can't attend in July?  Contact Melissa: mbaffa@girlscoutsccc.org

VolunteerServices

AREA TRAINING COORDINATORS (ATC) NEEDED IN SANTA BARBARA, MONTEREY, SAN BENITO, AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES

ATCs coordinate local GSCCC trainings.  They understand the overall process of current council trainings, assist staff with keeping training kits current, assist with organizing area trainings, and speaking at Service Unit Meetings. Current ATCs:

ANNOUNCING STAFF CHANGES TO BETTER SERVE OUR MEMBERS

Rebecca Jones and Christina Ortiz now hold titles of Regional Retail and Product Sales Managers reporting to Carol Chavez as Director of Sales.

 

In these new positions, Rebecca and Christina will continue to supervise and maintain retail sales, but will also support the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Sale Program. Questions? Contact Carol: cchavez@girlscoutsccc.org 

 

FALL PRODUCT SALE PROGRAM BEGINS OCTOBER 1 

Stay Calm and Stand Tall is this year's theme.  Vendors Trophy Nut and M2 Media return with a

couple of new products (nuts, candy, magazines). This is an opportunity for troops to start the year learning the 5 Skills of Financial Literacy while earning funds for supplies and activities. 

 

Service Unit Product Sale Chair Training will be August 24-26. (details announced at SU Team Forums)

 

Troop Level Training will be between September 7-18.  Troop Leaders, please be sure to select a volunteer to facilitate Fall Sales for your troop. Your Service Unit Chair will be coordinating training days in your area. It is important that your troop representative attend to receive forms and instructions on the online Troop Nuts Ordering System (TNOS).
