LEADERAMA Fall 2014

This MUST SEE event is set to ENERGIZE, INSPIRE, and ASSIST Girl Scout Volunteers from the new leader or volunteer, to the expert volunteer looking for something new in an afternoon of networking, skill workshops, and special surprises!  Highlights include:  New Grade Level Trainings to keep girls engaged as they grow, variety of workshops from Skill Building to SWAPS, Return of the Little Green Girl Scout Training Card, and a really nice lunch!

California Coastal Cleanup Day!

Be a part of the solution to marine pollution. Join in on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, from 9 AM - noon,  and be a part of the state's largest volunteer event, the 30th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day.   In 2013, over 58,000 volunteers removed almost 750,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from California's beaches, lakes, and waterways.  Register directly with one of your local organizations  by visiting  http://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/locations.html  After the event, your troop can purchase participation patches.  Visit Coastal Cleanup Participation and Patch Order Form for more information on how to purchase patches.

Camp in a tent, a yurt, or cabin.  

Make s'mores, cook outdoors, take a hike, observe the night sky, and even give archery a try!

Check out our newest DIY Kits: Daisy Engineer and Brownie Inventor.  Both use the award winning Goldie Blox building sets!  Instructions for check-out and other great information can be found on the Troop Activity Resources web page.


JUNIORS, CADETTES, SENIORS AND AMBASSADORS

 

GOLD AWARD: Girls APPLY ONLINE ONLY  for the Gold Award. It's easy and all information is available via the Gold Award page on the council website. High School girls who have graduated in May or June 2014 have until September 30, 2014 to submit a final report. OLDER GIRL TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES 2015-2017

Several exciting travel experiences are being planned for Older Girls to discover, connect and take action nationally and internationally starting in the Summer of 2015. Trips are being planned  to New York, Savannah, London and Lucerne, and more!  Additional information and trip specifics will be released in the next few months.  Want to be added to the travel interest list? VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Need Adult Volunteer training?  Check the GSCCC events calendar first to see if training is currently offered in your area. If not, please utilize the Training Request form to request council mandated training such as: Outdoor Training, New Learning Facilitator Training, First Aid/CPR Certification and Program Aide Training. All training sessions are scheduled based on Volunteer Learning Facilitator availability.

2014 FALL PRODUCT SALE

Start the GS year with money in your troop account by participating in the easy-to-do Fall Sale that begins 9/26/2014.  Attend your Service Unit training to get all the details and to pick-up troop packets. 


 

This year, it is possible to participate solely ONLINE, if girls don't want to handle product.  

 

This is a great opportunity for J/C/S/A troops planning on going to 
Kaleidoscope in May to earn funds to pay for registration.

Girls that sell $175 in online sales will earn a personalized Me2 patch. The patch will have the girl's name and the image of her Me2 that she created online. Online sales include online magazine sales, online nut sales, and online nut promises.


Troops with a Per-Girl-Average of 50 Nut and Candy items sold will earn a $60 GSCCC credit that can be used in our Council Shops or for troop events (like Kaleidoscope). 


 

 

2015 COOKIE SALE

 

TROOP LEADERS ONLY - PRE-ORDER GLUTEN FREE COOKIES NOW

In order to sell the gluten-free Trio cookie, Troop Leaders must place an estimated  troop order before September 21, 2014, by completing the Participation Interest Form.

SHOP TIL YOU DROP

 

Saturday Shop Hours: September 6 Shop coincides with the New GS Year Kick-Off -- Girl activities and hands-on assistance with online troop registration. Spend a minimum of $20.00 in the shops and win a free spin on the prize wheel!

 

Council Shops Closed For Physical Inventory: Mark your calendars!  Both council shops will be closed Thursday, September 25 through Tuesday, September 30 and will re-open on Wednesday, October 1. Although we will not be able to process any orders, our online shop will be open and available for all of your girl, troop and volunteer needs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

 

 

Service Unit Manager and Troop Leader Shirts

Don't miss the opportunity to get your SUM or Troop Leader shirt. These shirts were first introduced last year and here is another opportunity for purchasing. Click here to see the shirts and to print out the order form. Deadline for ordering is October 15, 2014.

 

 

NEW Revised Shop Order Form: Please use the new form when placing orders with the shops via email, fax or mail. 

 

Cookie Credits: Cookie credits cannot be used as payment for online orders. If you would like to purchase items online: 

  1. Make the purchase online, using your personal credit card.
  2. After the purchase has been made, fax, mail or email your confirmation email (the one with the total and confirmation number for the order) to Christina Ortiz at cortiz@girlscoutsccc.org. Please include the cookie card number, your name and a mailing address, and we will send you a reimbursement check for up to the amount of the cookie credit.
  3. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the reimbursement check.


 

 New Returns and Exchange Policy effective July 1, 2014:

  • Returns must occur within 60 days of purchase
  • No returns or exchanges without a receipt
  • Returns over $100.00 will be subject to a 10% restocking fee.
