THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED SERVE 10,428 GIRLS As the 2013 Girl Scout Year came to an end on September 30, 2013, GSCCC membership tallied 10,428 girls served by 5,691 adults. In a year where many councils had a decrease in membership, GSCCC had a 3% girl increase - thanks to volunteers, like you, who are providing exciting Girl Scout troop program.

JOIN THE DAISY CHAIN! Fall is here and school is starting along with new Daisy
Troops. New Daisy leaders will receive a starter packet with easy instructions for the first four meetings. Ask Membership Managers or Service Unit Managers about the starter kit. When the packet is completed, new Daisy Troops will receive the Journey book of their choice.

I CAN BE ACTIVITY PACKETS AVAILABLE THROUGH COUNCIL!
BarbieŽ and Girl Scouts of the USA announced a unique partnership to create the BarbieŽ "Be Anything, Do Everything" patch. The participation patch is designed to inspire the next generation of female leaders, encouraging girls to explore endless career possibilities through exciting new program activities.
Activity Packets (including booklets and patches) are available in limited quantities and while supplies last through the council Program Department. Packets are available in English and in Spanish. Interested Troop Leaders should submit a request including: Troop Leader Name,Troop number, mailing address, choice of English or Spanish language packets, and number of girls in the troop to: programs@girlscoutsccc.org
Packets will be assembled and ready for pick-up in the Ventura, Santa Maria and Castroville offices. Packets can be mailed to troops remote from an office. To determine the success of the program, we ask that participating troops complete a short survey/evaluation regarding the activity and return to the Program Department.

NEW FOREVER GREEN 2013 ACTIVITY GUIDE AND FREE PATCH PROGRAM! Join Girl Scouts across the council in making the world a better place! Activities focus on saving energy, conserving water and reducing plastics in the environment. It's easy to participate individually, as a troop, or with a group. Download the Forever Green Activity Guide, complete three or more activities, register the activity with GSUSA and complete the patch order form online. GIRLTOPIA GS of Greater LA is bringing the exciting girl-focused expo World of Girl! back to the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday, November 9, from 9 am to 5 pm. Girltopia is open to registered Girl Scouts, everywhere! Check-out the Teen Summit currently still open for Seniors and Ambassadors.

GSCCC Coastal Clean-Up patches are also available for $2. This patch is not dated, so girls can add the patch to their vest or sash after clean-up projects throughout the year.
