VOLUNTEERS

THE DAISY CHAIN is growing! Visit www.girlscoutsccc.org to see list of schools. In Ventura, many new Daisy troops are starting with a series hosted by their Service Unit and Staff Membership Manager. New leaders are then following the information found in the "seed packet" for the first four meetings. One new troop leader stated, "I volunteer in the classroom, but I am not a teacher. The seed packet was easy to follow, and I now I feel like I know what I am suppose to do, and it really isn't that hard."

NEW VIDEOS YOU CAN WATCH AND SHARE When you volunteer with girls, it's not just what you do, but how you do it. Watch this video, offered in English and Spanish, to learn more about how the Three Processes create a fun and meaningful experience for girls.

Also, don't forget to check out the new Quick Start on the GSUSA website for more ideas for new Daisy, Brownie and Junior troops.

In addition to hiking, archery, swimming, sing-alongs, great food and good ol'camping fun, throughout the week of camp, campers will be taught the 11 Skills of Leadership by youth staff members. Campers will then have opportunities to practice and apply these skills in hands-on settings.

Camp Artemis is girls leading girls towards the mastery of skills for life. Through recognition and development of their own leadership skills, girls learn to share these gifts with family, community and the world.

IT'S YOUR BUSINESS - RUN IT! by Girl Scouts For Girls   Check out the video series, It's Your Business-Run It! where a group of very different women across the country explain...what inspired them to start their business and what keeps them going. They share some of the skills they picked-up along the way--how to write a business plan, ask investors to invest in your idea, or how you can use Twitter and Facebook to reach new customers.

MAKERS: Women Who Make America, a New Documentary Featuring Anna Maria Chávez   Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, is featured in an e-documentary for this PBS documentary series which tells the remarkable story of the most sweeping social revolution in American history, as women have asserted their rights to a full and fair share of political power, economic opportunity, and personal autonomy.

Anna is in great company with other esteemed women who are being profiled (Oprah, Condoleezza Rice, and Gloria Steinem, just to name a few). The segment focuses on Anna as a trailblazer for girls as the CEO of Girl Scouts, and beautifully hones in on the message of ToGetHerThere.
