Greetings during this season of warm weather and hopefully more outside fun with the ones you love. The holiday celebrations of 4th of July can be quite stressful for most animals. Be sure to tuck your animals inside as much as possible for the weekend. It only takes one fire cracker going off in the daytime to cause your kitty to run for cover, perhaps not coming home for days. Most dogs are frightened by loud or startling noises and can leap fences to run in fear. Keeping them inside with fans or air conditioning on, along with music or TV to drown out the sounds, can be helpful.
Calming treats from your local pet store can also be helpful, along with homeopathic remedies such as Anxiety Drops TFLN by HomeoPet found at natural pet supply stores. And, remember to use the anxiety wrap type products (such as Thundershirt) if you already do so. Providing a safe hiding place, such as a closet where it's dark and cool can be comforting as your cats and dogs wait for quiet to return.
Most of all have fun and stay safe! Many Blessings, ~Terri
UPDATE FROM STORY SHARED IN MARCH:
Lady Boo - the sweet little dog who survived against all odds.
| | Lady Boo When Found in March 2016 | |
In my Spring newsletter I shared the heartfelt personal experience of finding a starving chihuahua deep in the woods of Oregon. The journey that unfolded to help her find her people over 35 miles away was truly a miracle. See full story - Lady Boo's Story.

| | Lady Boo in April 2016 |
I thought you'd appreciate a good news update. :-)
In the story you learn that wonderful people came together over FaceBook to help me as I attempted to catch her while she was running scared. When complete strangers rallied to help this little one, it was truly special. During times when life is hard and full of distressing news, an escape into what really matters happened for us all - caring for the innocent, no matter what efforts necessary.
| | Team Lady Boo | | In less than a month we all came together to meet for the first time and celebrate Lady Boo's survival. Carol (left in photo) was key in helping rally people to help. Diana (center in photo) is the blessed person who Lady Boo calls "Momma." And, my boy Braecen and I were so very grateful to see this happy ending. Note: his name is pronounced "Brock-en" and it means speckled in Irish :-)
The icing on the cake was when Lady Boo reunited with Braecen, her hero. He found her that cold and rainy day in March. Otherwise, she may have stayed hidden with fright and never been rescued.
Upon reuniting in April, Lady Boo cautiously sniffed Braecen all over his body, staying extremely close to Diana for safety. He patiently laid very still. Within seconds she recognized him.
They rolled, jumped and ran around like long lost friends. Pure joy for us all!
Braecen gave Lady Boo a gift of his most favorite thing in the world... a squirrel. It doesn't get much better than that, right?
Many blessings to Lady Boo, Diana, Carol, the volunteers and all of you who let this story touch your hearts. Remember to believe in miracles!

Exciting News - A Few Spaces Available on Dolphin Splendor Trip! September 25 - October 1, 2016
I am honored each year to take a group of wonderful people - most of whom don't know one another - onto an adventure that is fun, healing, and life changing. Magic truly happens when you bring together animal lovers who are ready to experience something as unique as swimming with wild dolphins. And, for those who don't love to swim, the experience is just as spectacular enjoyed from the boat.
The dolphins come to us. Need I say more? It is a blessing that they show up and a profound experience when they welcome us in to join them for a gentle swim together.
Gracefully they swim with our human pod in the warm turquoise waters of the Bahamas. We do not touch them or feed them. We simply join them.
The entire week is a rejuvenating retreat.
You will experience delicious, healthy foods that meet special dietary needs.
You will be pampered by the expert staff of the WildQuest retreat center.
And, you will join me for fun animal communication and dolphin teachings. Have you been following my announcements about this annual trip and thinking... "oh I wish I could go?" Well, it's time!
Our human pod last year floated at the surface sending love out to the dolphins and the ocean. When the photo was taken from below, we had unknowingly formed the shape of a heart. :-)
Contact me and let's talk about how to make this happen for you.
A well deserved adventure that will fill you with joy, lift your spirit, heal your heart and nurture you soul.

Tip from Terri - Ingredient To Avoid In Pet Food
Often I hear from clients... "I feed my animals better than I eat myself." This, of course, makes me smile because I can relate to that statement myself at times and because it's proof that people are improving their animal companion's diets. This is the single most important thing to do for your animals health - improve their diets for longer lives and easier aging.
Learning about animal diets is a journey. For me, it's never ending because new information is coming in regularly from holistic veterinarians and other animal nutrition experts. In deciding what to feed your cats and dogs, I realize it can feel overwhelming. In addition, I know your budget is a key factor, as it is for me as well. Through a consultation, I'm happy to assist you with your animals' well being. I also encourage you to work with a holistic veterinarian who is knowledgeable in nutrition, especially when you are dealing with a diagnosis that your pet is suffering through. It's truly sad how many cats and dogs are sick with gastrointestinal issues that can be avoided. Let's keep learning together.
TODAY, MY IMPORTANT TIP IS TO STOP USING CANNED PET FOOD WITH THE DANGEROUS INGREDIENT CARRAGEENAN. Most canned foods have this ingredient - even many of the healthy brands. However, if you read the ingredients on the label of canned foods, it is possible to find brands without it. This change can significantly improve your pet's health!
Recently, I switched my cats and dog over to a very well known holistic canned food. All three of my animals went off of their food within a few days. I have very hardy eaters and this was extremely unusual. My cats were beginning to vomit and my dog was having acidic burps. All indicative of something not right in their digestive tracts. The only common denominator was their new food.
Many of my client's animals are having common symptoms such as poor appetite, weight loss, vomiting, and/or refusing to eat. These can all be linked to problems in the actual food in the bowl. Please don't say your animal loved ones are "picky" if they are not eating - usually they are discerning and trying to tell you something is either wrong with what is being fed to them or they are developing digestive problems. You can prevent serious medical problems by listening and thank them later for the heads up!
My concerns led me to research symptoms that not only my animals were experiencing but also many of my client's animals. Then I asked my holistic veterinarian some questions about possible causes within the food. I learned about CARRAGEENAN, a thickening agent, used in people food and pet food. Scientifically proven to be making people and animals sick with gastrointestinal issues ranging from inflamed bowels to tumors in the intestines.
After changing my cat and dog food to a canned food without carrageenan, all of my animals are doing well. Also, in sharing this information with clients during consultations, those who have eliminated this ingredient from their cat and dogs diets are seeing many symptoms and illnesses go away.
Inflammation is a leading contributing factor to cancer and many other illnesses. Please make this one change for your companions and see them smile with ease as their digestive tracts improve and their body's feel better! For further details read this article - Why Carrageenan Can Be Dangerous to your Pet
