TVA Opens 2015 Green Power Program on Jan 26

TVA Green Power Providers
TVA will start accepting applications for the Green Power Providers program on January 26, 2015, and the application window will be open until February 13. TVA will randomly select projects if the program is oversubscribed.

TVA will pay a premium rate of two cents for solar generation. For a typical commercial system of 50 kilowatts, the average annual revenue for the first 10 years is approximately $9,100 per year. Over TVA's 20 year term, estimated solar revenue is over $203,000!

If you don't apply before February 13, you will still have a chance to get in the program as capacity becomes available. However, TVA has allocated only 6 megawatts (MW) of capacity for commercial projects, so the earlier you apply, the better your chance of approval.  Contact us to get started!

New Partnership with BB&T Provides Solar Financing for Small Businesses & 2 Year Payback

LightWave Solar is excited to partner with regional bank BB&T to increase solar investment among small and medium sized business owners. BB&T has been in Middle Tennessee for over 10 years and provides customized financing options for commercial solar installations.

"Not every business wants to wait six or seven years to see upside from their solar investment," explains Brian Bickel, Director of Sales and Marketing at LightWave Solar.

"Some of our clients prefer to finance the portion of system cost that remains after the first year tax incentives are recouped. In most cases, this allows for positive cash flow in year two and a quicker return on their solar investment," says Bickel.

Partnering with BB&T expands this option for small and medium sized businesses, and LightWave Solar looks forward to working with them on more projects in 2015.

This graph shows the cumulative benefit of financing the portion of system cost that remains after first year tax incentives are recouped. System payback time is 2 years! Contact us to learn more.
