Happy New Year! After celebrating the studio’s 4-year anniversary in style and welcoming new instructors to our family, we enter 2013 with a certain spring in our step. With Showcases, cocktail parties, team matches and competitions on the horizon, the first six months of the calendar promise to be full of excitement. We enter the fifth year of our existence more grateful than ever for your patronage. We look forward to exploring new and innovative ways of making South Coast Dancesport your home away from home.
This month’s newsletter is designed to welcome you to our first major event of the New Year: our winter Showcase. SCD TV is choreographed and produced by Tony Meredith, ballroom choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance. He is a former US Latin champion, served as the lead choreographer for Celine Dion’s Las Vegas show and has provided his expertise to a number of Broadway productions. Suffice it to say, we are very fortunate to have this singular talent guiding our largest Showcase ever to the stage. The performers included in SCD TV have all chosen a song or theme from their favorite television show or movie and have prepared for the last six months for this day.
SCD TV is a collection of fantastic talent from within the South Coast Dancesport family. Featuring 10 professional instructors, 37 amateur dancers, 3 hair and makeup experts, over a dozen stagehands and assistants, a full technical crew, 2 top notch videographers, a photographer and one incredible audience, you are invited to join us Saturday, January 19th! We will be performing twice, both at 5:00 p.m. and again at 8:00. Tickets are $25 for the matinee and $30 for the evening show.
To reserve your tickets, please call the studio at (949) 945-4200. We are happy to hold your tickets at will call, or you are welcome to swing by the studio and pick them up. Tickets may be available at the theatre on the day of the performance, but are $5 more per show. Please check your schedule and do your best to join us on the campus of the University of California at Irvine in the Claire Trevor Theatre!!
