YORK TALK | NOVEMBER 2014

Happy Holidays from all of us at YORK!

YORK WILL BE CLOSED ON THANKSGIVING
AND BLACK FRIDAY

Courier service ends at noon on Wednesday, 11/26 and will resume on Monday, 12/1.

Let us know if you have any special needs for sample pick-up so that we can work to accommodate your request.

Please plan accordingly for short holding time parameters and to ensure results are received when needed. Holidays do not count as a "business day" when calculating analysis turn-around-time. You'll want to submit samples much earlier in the week.

Our laboratory in Stratford, CT received some major facelifts.
Stop by for a tour! We love to have visitors.

REVISED SOQ

new logo
This year, YORK produced an updated Statement of Qualifications. The SOQ describes YORK's services, certifications, and project experience. It also details YORK's facilities, equipment, instrumentation, and key personnel. If you would like a copy of this updated version, please email our client services team.

New Jersey DEP
Data of Known Quality Protocols (DKQP)

New Jersey's "new" requirements on data reporting were incorporated into YORK's systems last month (effective Oct 1, 2014) and are now ready for client's use. Since we had already completed a very similar process for Connecticut's Reasonable Confidence Protocols (RCP) in 2010, our systems were prepared for this undertaking.

The DKQP reports specific laboratory QA/QC requirements and reporting limits as well as assessing the lab data by performing a Data Quality Assessment (DQA) and Data Usability Evaluation (DUE). YORK is fully prepared to provide a tool to present the data a unique format to assist with preparation of the DQA providing the necessary output to allow the LSRP to prepare their DUE in a most efficient manner.

IT'S EASY!

Emailing clientservices@yorklab.com is the best way to alert the whole client service team and insure that your message has "eyes" on it ASAP.

NOTE: YORK's Web-App updates automatically. We are constantly adjusting our software to accommodate client usability. For real-time scheduling of sample pick-ups and bottle drop-offs, you can use the order forms on our web-app  www.yorklab.com (just go to the site from your smartphone). Saving our site on your home-screen as a web-app will not use up your phone's storage space.

We plan to release a set of pick-up and bottle order forms that you can sign in to and they will memorize your core information (Name, Company, Phone Number, Email...) so you can schedule requests even faster than before.

Not All Disposal Facilities Are Created Equal

We frequently encounter requests for custom lists of parameters for multiple disposal facilities and have been building "hybrid lists" based on clients needs. We now have many hybrid lists, giving clients maximum flexibility with where soil can be disposed of.

We're working on developing a Comprehensive List of Disposal Facilities. In order to make this list comprehensive, would you help us in this process? Please use this email link and tell us which disposal facilities you use.

Lowest Detection Levels Ever

bob
For 25 years, Bob Bradley was YORK's Lab Director. In the last 18 months, Bob's role at YORK has evolved and is now our Director of Special Projects. With his incomparable expertise, he is very involved in the intricate details of critical data. Bob has recently conducted an internal study on dilutions and levels of detection (LODs).

YORK will produce this information in the form of a webinar which will detail the YORK approach to regulatory scrutiny and increasingly stringent LODs. At YORK we understand the profound importance of meting regulatory requirements and seek to educate our clients who have a desire to learn and understand the process, too. If you find yourself interested in learning about our internal study, please inquire with Dave at dmarrero@yorklab.com to set up a webinar.

We created this easy access to YORK phones card for your convenience. We can send you a card with pins or we'll send you the .pdf to print and pin up by your desk. If you'd like one, please email Dave at dmarrero@yorklab.com.

We're happy to say that we'll once again sponsor the Bridgeport Bluefish next season. Many clients and friends came up to the ballpark and visited the lab this summer.

Come out with us in 2015!
