WHERE'S DONNA?
If you've called the lab recently, and heard YORK's new automated attendant...you probably wondered, "Where's Donna?"
We know you want to speak with a live person and you want to do it quickly. Don't worry, Donna's still with us and you can always press "0" to try to reach her desk.
Most importantly, our new state-of-the-art VoIP phone system is designed to get you to your solution faster and easier than before. If the person you're trying to reach is not at their desk, your call will continue seamlessly to their mobile phones! Here's a helpful tool to keep by your desk or add to the 'notes' section in your contacts on your phone.

SEEING DOUBLE?
In September, YORK announced installation of unique new technology in the form of a Mercury Analyzer which provides very low detection limits and increased data quality control features. We like it so much, we acquired another to stay ahead of recent increasing demand for this analysis in the NYC Metropolitan area.
The rapid analysis time (less than 10 minutes per sample) dramatically improves YORK's ability to service client needs. The system enables the operator to analyze for mercury in virtually any samples matrix: liquids (water, waste-water, leaches, digestates, oils, organic liquids), solids, and gasses.
YORK reports aqueous samples down to 0.05 ppb and soils down to 0.03 ppm. YORK maintains certification for this technology by NELAP (NY) and Connecticut. The EPA method is described in EPA SW864 method 7473.

The New NY Bridge
President Obama's visit to the Tappan Zee Bridge in May was exciting to our team and all those involved in the project. A significant increase of discussion about the bridge, its impact and project timing have flooded internet news and social media sites.
New York State released ( click here for link) a clear timeline of key activities and overview of those involved in the massive construction project.

Big name stars hit the diamond in Bridgeport!
Opening night for the Bridgeport Bluefish brought NBA basketball star Tracy McGrady and the Clemens family (son Koby is the catcher, dad Roger was the loudest fan in the stands) to the stadium...as well as former major leaguers Gary Gaetti and Willie Upshaw (the two managers). Ex-Boston Red Sox picther, Tomo Ohka was the opening day starter and picked up the win.
 
Come on out with us to catch a ballgame! Some of our staff and clients have already enjoyed the game, and have even been selected to participate in the "bluefish toss" in between the 4th and 5th innings.
YORK is a proud sponsor of the Atlantic League's Bridgeport Bluefish, who play a 70-game schedule at nearby Harbor Yard (across from Long Island Ferry station). Come visit our lab and catch a game with us at The Ballpark. Here is a link to the schedule.
