To Our Valued Customers:

Increasingly, the process surrounding continuity and documentation of sample chain-of-custody has become more stringent and an area of focus for state and agency auditors.  As a result, York Analytical Laboratories has changed its policy regarding samples that we have received and have been asked to "hold" by clients until further direction on what type of analysis is required is provided.

All samples sent to York must be formally logged-in to our system (LIMS) and made available for tracking regardless of whether or not analyses have been performed. $8.00 per sample will be charged at the time of invoicing for all samples received and placed on hold. This fee will be deducted from any analysis performed on a sample placed on hold and requested for analysis at a later date.

The $8.00 per sample fee covers the costs associated with sample containers, log-in processing, storage, chemical used for preservation, disposal and media that are routinely included in the price of the analysis.

Chain-of-custody documentation for samples received on "hold" will be immediately made available for client preview through the password-protected client access section of our website.
