8 days until Fish Fry

The Community Lenten Fish Fry is coming on Friday, March 13 from 11am-2pm and 5pm-8pm.  $5/person tickets are available here; advance purchases will help us plan food purchases for this new community initiative.  This is a great way for us to move into the neighborhood, meet our neighbors, and bring friends to St. John's for lunch or supper.  See you there!

Flower Workshop

Want to learn more about flower arranging? The Flower Guild is holding an arranging workshop and would like to invite any parishioner who would like a risk-free opportunity to try your hand at arranging. We will meet in Chisholm Hall on Saturday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We will be practicing the Paschal Candle arrangement. It is among the simplest to do but carries an important significance since it is needed for the Easter season, certain feast days, and funerals.  There are a limited number of spots available. So email Linda Buchanan by Monday, March 9 to reserve your spot. There will be a $10 fee collected at the time of the workshop to cover the needed supplies.

African Team Ministries sale on 3/22

African Team Ministries is a Christian ministry working as an intermediary between African and American churches.  With help from Episcopal, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Anglican denominations, they provide funding for orphan and refugee relief, mission, and evangelism in East Africa.

A display of hand-crafted items made in Africa will be for sale in Chisholm Hall on Sunday, March 22.

The support from your purchases allows African Team Ministries to provide school fees, tuition, books, and uniforms to students in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.  This support ensures that the children receive an education and an opportunity to learn of and deepen their relationship with Jesus.  Through their partner churches, your purchases will give the gift of hope!

Easter Vigil and Easter Day Flowers: St. John's is accepting donations for flowers to decorate our worship space for Eastertide.  These flowers may be given in memory of, or in thanksgiving for, a loved one or a special event.  Forms are available in our worship space.  Please either mail your donation and form to the Parish Office or place both in a sealed envelope in the offering plate.  Please be sure to note "Easter flowers" on the check memo line.  Your gift will be reflected on your contribution statement for the year.

Don't miss out on the Pilgrimage to Scotland and England. If you have any interest in participating in this September 12-25, 2015 pilgrimage, you are urged to make your deposit today.   Hotels are filling fast at some of our destinations.  Once they are full, we can take no more participants!  In Exploring our Anglican Spirituality, pilgrims will walk in the footsteps of many early Celtic and Catholic saints who were central to forming the unique Anglican heritage we cherish in the Episcopal Church today.  Though sponsored by St. John's Church, this pilgrimage is open to anyone who desires to journey with us.  The pilgrimage is limited to a total group size of 30.  Brochures are available in Chisholm Hall or via this link.  Is God calling you to be a part?
