Season's greetings, Readers:

In lieu of a regular newsletter this week, we're sending you this letter to express our gratitude to you. Your continued support of local independent businesses like us -- during the holiday season and year-round -- makes a difference in our community. We look forward to a new year of bringing you the kind of personalized, knowledgeable service that is unique to indie bookstores, as Grass Roots enters its 45th year.

We will be closed Christmas Day as well as New Year's Day, and closing at about 4:00 p.m. on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. We hope you enjoy a peaceful, safe, and happy time with family and loved ones.

Warm wishes to you in 2016, and happy holidays from the Grass Roots team!
Friends:

Thank you for another incredible year of independent bookselling! Sandy and I count ourselves as truly blessed, spending our days among great books and questing booklovers. We think this is the year that people stopped taking books for granted, and spoke through their actions for the value of "real books" in their lives.

Publishers have also intensified their focus on producing books in unique formats to personalize the reading experience. And authors are speaking out, encouraging their fans to support their local, independent bookstores. All in all, this has been a very good, encouraging and fulfilling year.

Next year, we hope to expand the variety of our literary offerings, seeking a more personal experience for the uniqueness of expression that books provide. And we encourage your comments and suggestions.

Please accept our heartfelt appreciation for your amazing expressions of thanks and support you have shared with all of us these past few weeks. May your holidays be blessed with quality time with friends & family, and may the spirit of the season bless you with inner peace and inspiraton.
